For medical students in Hong Kong: the Licensing Examination and a daily habit

Hong Kong has two established medical schools, at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Their graduates do not sit the Licensing Examination. Doctors trained outside Hong Kong do.

The Licensing Examination

The Medical Council of Hong Kong's Licensing Examination has three parts: professional knowledge, a proficiency test in medical English, and a clinical examination. Candidates who pass then complete a period of assessment, normally twelve months in an approved hospital, before registration. The government has said the questions are set at the level of the two local medical schools' own exams.
